It's all systems go this week in the West atelier.
Hugh is throwing stock for our showroom and for exhibitions. While the kiln quietly does its work, he's busy throwing and decorating more porcelain pieces.
All we need now is a queue of customers!

Mum's memories of the Second World War could fill a very large book.
I've been thinking a lot about her recently - how brave she was during wartime and how much she meant to me.

The photographs in the gallery are details of a tray I made in papier mâché from a wartime newspaper I found under lino in a house we were renovating. One issue alone of this Berkshire County paper told dozens of stories, in the news section, in advertisements and in reports of marriages, with the groom always in uniform.

We were invited to celebrate our friend Ingeborg's birthday not long ago.
We were 14 at the table, exactly half of us French, the others from England, Holland, Germany and Switzerland. Each of us with a special skill.
We ate a splendid meal of home-cured salmon, roast wild boar, cheeses and chocolate mousse. The wines from Menetou Salon and St Emilion were delicious, the company in high spirits.
Happy Birthday, Ingeborg!

I don't make resolutions any more - they're too easily broken and I'd end up disappointed with myself - but I focus on my Intentions.
This year my Journal will be an illustrated one. Here's the cover page.
